European design award shortlist for nomad

One of our clients Nomad Wheelchairs have been shortlisted for the prestigious European design management award, the DME.

Celebrating excellence in design management in all fields, and across the whole of Europe, it is a particularly important recognition for nomad.

‘Wheelchairs are now being considered as design items, not simply medical ones’, says Mark Owen, ‘and our branding is being seen as aspirational, which is unheard of in mobility circles. We really are very proud’.

The awards judge several criteria, ranging from product design, to branding. They assess how companies lead their respective fields by applying excellent, innovative design.

Another award shortlist

Our branding and marketing work for Nomad Wheelchairs has been nominated for a Canmol award. This year’s event will be held in the Park Plaza Hotel, Cardiff on Thursday 15 October 2009.

BIG BOOK OF GREEN DESIGN

Elfen have been selected to feature in a new book published by Crescent Hill Books, investigating green design. Work produced for the Urdd, one of Europe’s largest youth organisations features in the publication.

National Theatre Wales

Elfen have been appointed to brand National Theatre Wales. The project will involve designing and overseeing all aspects of the visual communication strategy.

Books Update

Crescent Hill produce a variety of design-related books, our work has been selected for THE BIG BOOK OF GREEN DESIGN, and DESIGNING FOR THE GREATER GOOD.

Mcnaughton Review 2009

Elfen’s Creative Director Guto Evans has been selected as one of this years Mcnaughton Review design Judges, “After a lot of success in the competition since 2000, it’s fantastic to be selected as a judge. It will be a chance to see the best work from across the UK.”

Not so fresh news!

Back in September last year we visited Manchester for the Fresh Awards 2008. We picked up a Bronze Award for the Cwmni Da branding, and highly commended for the Ffotogallery book, it was a fantastic night at the Imperial War Museum.
